I chose field hockey as one of my resources because I believe that students would like the sport of field hockey. It is something different that most students may not have participated in. It also relates to a few different sports that may intrigue an array of students (i.e. hockey, soccer). I think that teaching field hockey in junior high as well as high school is important. But not only at the secondary level. Elementary aged students would benefit from the sport as well. Starting kids at an earlier age would help with the sport when the students reach high school and can play competitively. I think the lesson plans I have listed are very strong tools to have when teaching. They provide clear instructions and have easy to use diagrams and videos. The one weakness I would say is some schools may not have enough money to buy a large amount of sticks needed for a field hockey unit.
